I’ve joined more network marketing businesses than I’d like to admit.
Seriously. I’m not even going to try counting them. π
And every time I joined something new, I thought maybe THIS would be the one.
Better compensation plan. Better products. Better system. Whatever it was, there was always something that made the next opportunity look more appealing.
But lately I’ve been wondering something.
What if constantly starting over is part of the reason I haven’t gotten where I want to be?
Because if I’m being fair, I can’t blame every company I’ve joined.
At some point, I have to look at what I’m doing too.
And I think that’s where a lot of us get stuck when we’re struggling in network marketing.
We keep looking for a better opportunity when maybe what we really need is a better plan.
Why Do We Keep Joining New Network Marketing Companies?
I think it’s pretty simple.
We join something because we’re excited about it.
We see the potential. We like the compensation plan. We think we can make it work.
Then a little time goes by.
Maybe we’re not getting leads. Maybe nobody’s joining. Maybe we’re putting in time and money and not seeing much happen.
And then someone tells us about another company.
Of course, it sounds great.
Everyone’s excited. People are joining. There’s a new compensation plan to look at.
And suddenly we’re thinking…
Hmm. Maybe I should try that one instead.
Sound familiar?
I’ll admit I’ve done that a few times,
but here’s what I’m starting to realize…
If I didn’t know how to get leads in the last business, what will be different in the next?
The company may be different, but I’m still the one who has to figure out how to market it.
Maybe Starting Over Is What’s Holding Me Back
Every time I join a new company, I have to learn everything all over again.
The products. The compensation plan. The website. The tools.
Then I have to figure out how I’m going to promote it.
And by the time I’m getting familiar with everything, there’s another opportunity popping up that looks interesting.
It’s kind of ridiculous when I think about it. π
I’m not saying we should stay in a business that isn’t working or that we don’t believe in.
There are plenty of legitimate reasons to leave a company.
But I do wonder how much time I’ve spent learning new businesses instead of actually learning how to market one.
Because those are 2 different things.
And maybe that’s where I need to put more of my attention.
What If Your Network Marketing Business Isn’t Working?
If your network marketing business isn’t working, I think it’s worth figuring out WHY before jumping into something else.
Is it the company or is it something else?
Are You Getting Any Leads?
This is a big one.
You can have a great opportunity, but if nobody’s looking at it, how is anyone supposed to join?
And no, I don’t think everyone wants to spend their day messaging strangers or posting about their business nonstop.
I certainly don’t.
But we do need some way to get our offer in front of people.
Whether that’s social media, blogging, email marketing, referrals, or paid traffic, we need to learn how to get network marketing leads.
And if we’re paying for traffic, we need to pay attention to what we’re actually getting.
Clicks are nice.
But are people signing up? Are they interested? Are they doing anything after they click?
Because paying for clicks that go nowhere gets old pretty fast.
Do You Know What to Say?
You join a business.
They give you a link.
And then what?
What do you post? What do you say? How do you follow up with someone who’s interested?
I think this is where a lot of beginners struggle.
It’s not always that they don’t want to do the work.
Sometimes they genuinely don’t know what they’re supposed to be doing.
And being told to “just share your link” isn’t exactly helpful.
Are You Giving Anything Enough Time?
This is the one I’m asking myself.
Am I actually giving a business a fair chance?
Or am I getting distracted every time something new comes along?
And I’m not talking about staying somewhere for years while losing money and hoping things magically change.
I mean choosing a plan, actually using it, seeing what works, and making changes when something doesn’t.
That’s hard to do when you keep switching companies.
What Do Network Marketing Beginners Actually Need?
I think sometimes we make network marketing more complicated than it needs to be.
Especially when we’re new.
We don’t necessarily need another shiny opportunity.
We need to know what to DO.
For me, that comes down to a few things:
- Leads: How do I get people to see what I’m offering?
- Training: Can someone show me how to actually market this?
- Follow-up: What happens after someone clicks or shows interest?
- Support: Who do I ask when I get stuck?
- Consistency: Can I stick with a reasonable plan long enough to see what’s working?
That last one might be my biggest challenge.
And I think having the right training and support makes it a little easier.
Not because someone else is going to build your business for you.
But because it’s nice not having to figure out every single thing on your own.
Why I’m Sticking With Traffic Ignition
So, here’s where I’m at now.
I’ve been with Traffic Ignition for about two months.
Which, considering my history of joining different opportunities, may not sound like much.
But this time I see a true value. I see learning happening. I see momentum building. I see myself continually being motivated by the training they offer and the support from other members.
This time I want to give it a real chance and avoid those distractions of whatever comes along next.
There are a few reasons I chose it.
There Are Different Ways to Potentially Earn
Traffic Ignition has a compensation plan with multiple commission streams, including matrix commissions, matching bonuses, and a PRO Fast Start option.
I like that there are different parts to the compensation plan.
Of course, that doesn’t mean I’ll earn from all of them, or that anyone is guaranteed to make money.
But it’s something that appeals to me.
There’s Training I Can Keep Learning From
This is probably one of the biggest things for me.
Traffic Ignition offers ongoing training, live calls, recordings, and AI marketing resources.
And from my experience so far, the training gets updated regularly.
I like knowing I can go back and learn something when I need it.
Because I don’t just want to join another business.
I want to get better at marketing.
That’s something I can use no matter what I’m promoting.
There’s Discounted Traffic Available
Another thing I like is the access to discounted Traffic Authority traffic.
Traffic Ignition advertises wholesale traffic pricing at up to 45% below retail.
And since getting people to actually look at an offer is such a big part of online marketing, that’s definitely something that caught my attention.
Now, I’m not saying buying traffic guarantees you’ll make sales or get people to join.
It doesn’t.
But having traffic options available is useful, especially if you don’t have a huge audience already.
I Can Actually Help People on My Team
This matters to me too.
If someone joins my team and has questions, I want to be able to help them.
And if I don’t know the answer, I want to know where to find it.
I don’t want to just give someone a link and wish them luck.
Having training, calls, and resources available gives us somewhere to start.
And the more I learn, the more I can help.
So How Do You Grow a Network Marketing Business Without Starting Over?
I don’t have some secret formula for how to succeed in network marketing.
If I did, I probably wouldn’t have joined so many companies in the first place. π
But I am trying to do a few things differently.
First, I’m going to focus on learning how to market.
Not just learning the compensation plan or watching another presentation.
I mean actually learning how to get leads, what to say, how to follow up, and how to improve what I’m doing.
Second, I’m going to stop trying to do everything at once.
There are about a million ways to promote a business online.
Okay, maybe not a million. But it feels like it.
I don’t need to try all of them this week.
I’d rather focus on a few things and get better at them.
Third, I’m going to pay attention to my results.
If I’m spending money on advertising, I need to know whether it’s doing anything useful.
If I’m getting leads but nobody’s joining, I need to look at what happens after they sign up.
And if something isn’t working, I need to figure out why instead of immediately looking for another company.
And finally, I’m going to give this some time.
Not forever, no matter what happens.
But enough time to actually learn, put things into practice, and see whether I’m making progress.
Maybe We Don’t Need Another Opportunity
I can’t tell you that Traffic Ignition is going to be the answer for me.
I’ve only been there about two months.
And I certainly can’t tell you it’s going to be the answer for you.
But I do know that constantly starting over hasn’t gotten me where I want to be, so I’m trying something different.
I’m sticking with this business, using the training, learning more about marketing, and seeing what I can build.
Maybe I’ll look back a year from now and be glad I finally stopped jumping around.
If you’re struggling in network marketing, or trying to figure out how to make money online with network marketing, maybe it’s worth asking yourself the same question I’ve been asking.
Do I really need another opportunity? Or do I need to get better at marketing the one I’ve already got?

Frequently Asked Questions
Why am I struggling in network marketing?
It could be the company, the product, the compensation plan, or the way you’re marketing it. If you’re not getting leads or don’t know how to follow up, switching companies probably won’t solve those problems. I’d look at what’s actually happening before making another move.
How do you get network marketing leads without bothering friends and family?
You can use blogging, social media content, email marketing, referrals, or paid traffic to reach people who are already interested in your topic. You don’t have to message everyone you know. But you do need to learn how to attract the right people and follow up with them.
How long does it take to succeed in network marketing?
There’s no set timeline, and success isn’t guaranteed. It depends on the business, your skills, your costs, and a lot of other things. I think it’s more useful to track what you’re learning and what results you’re getting than to assume everything should happen within a certain number of months.
Can beginners make money online with network marketing?
It’s possible, but it’s not automatic. You need a legitimate product or service, people who want it, and a way to market it. Many participants earn little or nothing after expenses, so it’s important to understand the costs and compensation plan before joining.
